On 14th April a parade will take place from Eyam to Stoney Middleton to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Boot and Shoe strike in the villages.

As quoted in Tunes on a Penny Whistle:

There was a joint Labour and Union church parade at Stoney Middleton. The vicar, the Revd. J B Riddlesden preached a sermon on the text ‘Am I my brother’s keeper? Because the vicar allowed this service no one attended his church on Sunday evening.

This year the parade will start off from Eyam at 10.00, followed by a service at Stoney Middleton at 11.00. Richard will be doing one of the readings in the service.
